Key Rule: Three prepositions attach directly to the noun as a prefix - they are not separate words:
בְּ- (in): בְּבַיִת = in a house
לְ- (to): לַיֶּלֶד = to the boy
מִ- (from): מֵהַבַּיִת = from the house
