1. The power of repetition.
 

The power of repetition is the driving force of your brain. You want to memorize a word, phrase or even a sentence; you have got to use it over and over again in random ways. For example: you can learn 500 words in one day, but if you won't use those words again after, you will forget most of them within a week.

 

2. Sticky notes.
 

Instead of chasing after words, let the words chasing you. another great way, if not 'THE' way to learn some new words, is by creating a small note with the Hebrew name of an object on it and stick it on or by the object so every time you approach the object or use it, you will read it out loud until you're automatically remember it and you no longer need this note.


For example: the Hebrsew translates for the word Chair is Kiseh. Grab a note, write down the word Kiseh on it and stick it to a chair where you can easily see the note. Every time you pass by or sit or whatever, you going to shout the word Kiseh out loud. Next step, say the word without looking at the note. If you do it on a daily basis after a few days you won't forget that word.

 

3. Make a list.
 

Going to the market place? Packing your vacation bag? Why don't you write your list in Hebrew? a great way to turn from passive learning to active learning is to integrate the Hebrew language in your daily life.
Whenever you making a list. Write the list in the Hebrew language.

For example: You have to go to the supermarket to buy some fruits and vegetables. Make the list in Hebrew as following:
5 Melafefonim (Cucumbers)
4 Agvaniyot (Tometeos)
1 Tapuach (Apple)
2 Gzarim (Carrots)
And so on...
When arriving to the supermarket, act according to that list. as time goes by, get rid of the english translate in the brackets.

 

4. Touch it.
 

The things you touch everyday can easily become a great challenge for your memory. Whenever you touching an object you immediately say what you are exactly touching.

For example: You get up in the morning, start to dress up. You are open your closet and take out your shirt; but wait. When you touch it, while you wear it, you immediately say the word in Hebrew (Chultza,for that matter). If you don't know what is the exact word in Hebrew, you simple check it out on the dictionary.

 

5. Pop-up videos.
 


Learning a new language through videos, makes the learning process more enjoyable and less boring. You can watch them online anytime and anywhere on your computer or on your mobile phone. A lot of websites charge for that service. But you can find them also for free For example on YouTube and eHow.

 

6. PenPals.
 


Corresponding via mail (snail mail) or via email, is a great way to learn writing and grammar. When writing a letter you actually expands your vocabulary and improve your writing skill. Of course, at the beginning you will make a lot of mistakes. One letter could take your all day. But you must remember tip #1. If you repeat it day in day out, you will see the improvement very fast. Do not freak out and start sending letters to everyone. Start with one letter to one individual person and gain confident. Be consistent and You will also make a new friends.
